Class time is structured around grammar and conversation which is supplemented by exercises (oral and written) as well as other activities allowing students to practice what they have learned. Programs have been designed for students of all levels (3 beginner, 3  intermediate, 2 advanced,and superior) for time periods of 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks and are developed to enable the student to communicate in the shortest time possible or in the case of intermediate and advanced students provide the opportunity to perfect their knowledge of Spanish.  All programs include the study of vocabulary,  syntax and morphological exercises (verb tenses, conjugations and uses) as well as other linguistic exercises, such as: directed conversations, writing, reading, comprehension and pronunciation. The primary objective of CPI is to ensure the ultimate learning experience by utilizing modern teaching methods in an environment of constant feedback and revision. Students soon discover that it is easy to communicate in Spanish and by simultaneously living with a Costa Rican family they broaden their horizons through direct immersion into a culture different from their own.
