University credits at CPI

CREDITS

The CPI Spanish program is approved for academic credit by The University of Southern Mississippi (USM). USM offers undergraduate credit for beginner to advanced courses and is transferable to other accredited universities.

The system is organized as follows:
Students must take a minimum of 20 hours per week. All fees for credits are made payable to USM.

The credit hours are organized as follows:

3 credit hours = 3 weeks of class (20 hours per week). The cost is $395 (in addition to the CPI program price)

6 credit hours = 5 weeks of class (20 hours per week). The cost is $595 (in addition to the CPI program price).

9 credit hours = 8 weeks of class (20 hours per week). The cost is $795 (in addition to the CPI program price).

12 credit hours = 12 weeks of class (20 hours per week). The cost is $995 (in addition to the CPI program price)

General Procedure
In order to receive credits for classes taken at C.P.I. students must contact the Foreign Language Department at USM (please find the contact information below) as well as send an official transcript reflecting prior Spanish courses. Once accepted by USM for credits you will receive an acceptance letter and the necessary evaluation forms; these forms indicate placement level and must be given to the administration at C.P.I. upon arrival to Costa Rica. These steps must be taken prior to leaving for Costa Rica.
