Save the Rainforest

La Paloma Lodge nests atop a high bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and nearby Caño Island, on Costa Rica's isolated Drake Bay.

The resort is spread over 12 richly landscaped acres and surrounded by dense tropical rainforest. We have planted hundreds of plants and trees that are not only lovely to see but also attract a variety of birds and wildlife.

Looking out on Caño Island

Scarlet Macaws soar overhead, nesting nearby. Toucans can be heard calling from deep in the rainforest. Hummingbirds feed on the brilliant heliconia. White faced monkeys lunch on ripe mangoes. The sounds of the jungle surround you.

LA PALOMA LODGE

"Perched above Drake Bay, with open views of the`Pacific and the lush Osa Peninsula, La Paloma is a place that seems to get better with each passing hour."

As featured in the NEW YORK TIMES Travel section Sunday
July 14th 2002.

"Set on a steep hill overlooking the Pacific with Cano Island in the distance, the individual bungalows at La Paloma offer expansive ocean views that combined with the attentive and amiable service makes this my choice in Drake Bay." Chosen one of the seven best eco-lodges in Costa Rica by FROMMER’S COSTA RICA

“ Spending a night listening to the rain beating down on the thatch is very romantic and these ranchos are my favorite rooms in Drake.” “They are justly proud of their 36 foot catamaran boat that makes a fast trip to Isla del Caño and is currently the most spacious and comfortable dive boat at Drake.”
LONELY PLANET

“La Paloma is a spectacular eco-lodge experience....there is a gorgeous pool also overlooking the ocean and surrounded by jungle gardens.” “...one of those once in-a-life time places you’ll always want to return to. I left feeling more like a friend than a guest.” COSTA RICA GUIDE

”Perched high on a hill, the private, two story ranchos are surrounded by greenery and birds, with views of Drake Bay and Cano Island beyond.”
Recommended byTHE NEW KEY TO COSTA RICA

“Excellent food(including fresh fish and shrimp) is served family style. Homemade bread is served at every meal, and night time brings rich desserts. A swimming pool and sun deck perched on the hillside have a dynamite ocean view. Staff is attentive and friendly.”
ADVENTURES IN NATURE COSTA RICA

”Sweeping views and a sense of jungle make these deluxe bungalows the best in the area.”
